JUNE 4, Wednesday – Prof. R.J. Schultz Reception, honoring his 45th anniversary at OSU. Owen Hall Atrium, 2-4:00 pm.

JUNE 4 – COE Picnic (faculty & staff only), Benton County Fairgrounds, 5:00 pm.

JUNE 6, Friday - Golden Jubilee Reunion, celebrating the classes of 1958, 1953, 1948, and 1943.

JUNE 6 - CEM vs CE Softball Game and end of the year BBQ. Game starts at 3:30 at Avery Park. Bring a glove and a chair. BBQ will be right after the game. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CONGRATULATIONS – to our newly formed chapter of Chi Epsilon at OSU! Chi Epsilon, a national civil engineering honor society, was founded in 1922 and has grown over the years to include 131 chapters, with the OSU chapter becoming the 132nd.  Membership in Chi Epsilon is open to juniors and seniors by invitation (sent out Winter term), and to all graduate students.  Thanks to Josh Goodall, president of the CCE honor society, along with faculty advisors Profs. Michael Scott and Jerry Yamamuro, for spearheading the campaign to install a Chi Epsilon chapter at OSU! Past members of the CCE honor society are welcome to join Chi Epsilon and should contact Michael Scott for more information. An evening induction ceremony is planned on June 3.

Do you have an idea to make OSU more sustainable? Here is your chance to make it happen! The Student Sustainability Initiative at OSU will award up to $5,000 dollars in grant funds for projects completed by June 2009. Projects should promote the SSI mission, the OSU student body, and sustainability at OSU (renewable energy, efficiency, technology, agriculture, awareness, etc.). Full details here.

 GRADUATION

CCE GRADUATION CELEBRATION – all graduates (including Summer or Fall ’08) are invited to participate in our School’s ceremony. Please RSVP here before 6/6/08. Registration and information on OSU’s Commencement is here.

SENIOR SEND-OFF CELEBRATION – Hosted by the OSU Student Alumni Association, the Send-Off will be themed “Vegas Night.” This event is free and will be a night filled with casino activities, hors d’oeuvres and pizza, beverages and a cash bar, DJ MOOG, and a raffle. There will be many prize give-aways, including gift certificates and an iPod. Thursday, June 5, 7:00-9:00 pm, CH2M Hill Alumni Center Ballroom.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT GRADUATION RECEPTION - to recognize International graduates, student led organizations and supporters of international students across campus. An International Lunch will be served. Saturday, June 14 from 10:30-1:30 pm at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center. Graduates may invite 2 guests. Kindly RSVP to international.graduation@gmail.com  by June 1, 2008.
